Education Plus, Inc., d/b/a Education Plus Health, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization formed in Idaho in 1982 to operate supplemental testing services for students to determine educational needs related to learning differences and capabilities, with the goal of improving and developing competencies and outcomes through tutoring and other special programming.
Education Plus Health moved to Pennsylvania in 2009 and currently serves nearly 4,000 youth across several Title 1 schools and school-based health centers in Philadelphia through school-based healthcare, educational programming, and asthma home visiting services.
Integral to our mission that health and educational outcomes are connected, our services aim to provide students the care they need through a whole child approach so that they can succeed academically.
Education Plus Health works collaboratively with strong community and school partners to serve students and their families with wraparound supports that go beyond healthcare access alone, including health education, insurance navigation, and connection to community resources.
Expertise/Focus
Our school-based health center model is a unique blend of Nurse Practitioner-led primary care embedded within school nursing, all delivered in the same school clinic.
In addition to nursing services, Education Plus Health school-based health centers include Behavioral Health Counselors, Community Health Workers, and nutrition support.
Education Plus Health launched and currently partners with the Pennsylvania School-Based Health Alliance, the state affiliate of the School-Based Health Alliance, the voice for school-based health care since 1995. Working together with the support of the Alliance, Education Plus Health advocates for Pennsylvania policies that enable the growth of school-based health centers across the Commonwealth.
